Criterion 1: Relevant Qualification

Additional subjects could include child development and protection, social justice, mental health, case management, group theory, drug and alcohol issues, psychology, youth work, crisis intervention, working with children and families, community development, juvenile justice, and family violence.

Community Work Australia does not recognize a qualification where RPL (recognition of prior learning) is more than 40% to achieve the qualification. Very short qualifications that do not provide sufficient skills and knowledge are also not recognised.

Criterion 2 – English Requirement

  1. Youth worker English Test requirements: Youth workers’ skill assessment applicants need the following scores in the English language tests. Community Work Australia accepts results within 3 years of the application, and for IELTS, an applicant can submit multiple scores from multiple tests within 12 months.

Criterion 3 – Employment and Currency

Employment
